November Pet of the Month

November Pet of the Month

Mostly our Pet of the Month’s are nominated through our Facebook page. You post a photo of your gorgeous one and the pet with the most votes wins. Simples!

However we do get nominations via email and I had to pull rank (again) because this eulogy for Poppy the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier in my humble opinion is perfect.

I’m guessing Poppy had a brilliant time on planet earth and left all who knew her with some beautiful, funny and exasperating memories which is pretty much what it’s all about.

So in honour of a dog much loved and adored, Poppy is The Little Dog’s November Pet of the Month. Rest in peace funny girl and thank you Romaine for sharing Poppy with us.

(Virtual hug and a winner’s card bundle are on their way)

Hello there,

I thought I’d send in a photo of my gorgeous bundle of awesomeness, Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Poppy, from when she decided that blonde was out, and mud was in!!! This was taken a couple of years ago when she was 10, although head rolls in mud or worse were always her trademark move!!image002Sadly we lost Poppy to cancer just a few weeks ago at the age of 12, but in those 12 years she became a highly skilled thief, a connoisseur of junk food and a chaser of cats and motorbikes.

She was only ever obedient when she felt like it, could hear the cheese tray from several miles away, and had a bit of an addiction to squirty cream.
The most adorable naughty dog anyone could ever wish for – she loved everyone, and everyone loved her.
I will so miss the 3am wake up call for attention, and the dismissal 10 minutes later when she was done with me.
I was proud to be her minion for 12 wonderful years, and hope that wherever she is now is full of cheese flavoured motorbikes and cats carrying buckets of KFC.

I hope you think she was as adorable as we did.

Romaine Simpson- Tuffey
