Calendar Competition Time – Search for a Superstar 2023

Search for a Superstar 2023

It’s time folks. I’m looking for fabulous muses to star in next year’s calendar. So send me your favourite photos and who knows, this time could well be your time!

For anyone who is new to this competition, the criteria is pretty simple.

It’s free to enter, the only cost is the time it takes you to email me you favourite photos and wax lyrical about your furry one! Previous winners are more than welcome to enter again. You can submit any number of dog and cat photos, including any of those who are no longer with you. You can also enter on someone else’s behalf.

How to grab my attention?

A variety of poses or different locations or action shots are great as I like to ensure the calendar pages have a good mix.

Clear, colour photos are better than black and white or sepia.

As much background story detail as you can muster. Often it is the anecdotes and little details that pique my interest.

How to enter?

Email me at studio@thelittledog.co.uk with the subject title Superstar 2023.

Closing date is Thursday 30th June. Winners will be announced at the beginning of September.

Due to the number of entries, it is not always possibly to reply directly to every email unless I can finally figure out how to send one of those thank you holding replies that doesn’t then go to my gas provider. I’ll try my best!

The Prizes

A bespoke print of the finished artwork.

Two complimentary samples of the calendar when it’s printed. (September 2022)

Complimentary samples of any future products the artwork may later appear on.

Automatic entry into the Little Dog’s Hall of Fame with lifelong honorary member 20% discounts.

Good luck and may the furry gorgeous love and luck be with you!

In other news . . .

Reading this and thinking, that looks like my dog/cat? Well it probably is!

In previous years, I have tended to use the same artwork for the diary and the calendar. However, due to the topsy-turviness of the last couple of years and the delays to deliveries, supply chains plus container and port issues, I started the diary project early. I shut myself away throughout March and returned to my Muses to Draw folder. This means my 2023 Diary is finished and has left the building! Fingers crossed, it will be in stock and on sale by August. Which hopefully means we escape last year’s nine weeks delivery delay.

I will message you all individually with the news but if you spot your furry one here and want to beat me to it, email me at studio@thelittledog.co.uk and I will update you on what happens next. All I want to add here is that I am so grateful that you take the time to share your loved ones with me. I never get bored clicking on your emails and scrolling through your photos. The love, comfort and joy they often contain always fills me with warmth and hope, even when some of your anecdotes reduce me to tears!

Thank you again, best wishes, Anna Danielle

Comments

  1. I am still fairly new to ‘Little Dog’. I am a cat lady and managed to buy a Moggies Calendar last year but the diaries were sold out. This year I will be prepared. I love the illustrations and look forward to ordering in August. I find it good news that the dairy and calendar will have different illustartions – 24 lovely pictures and comments instead of 12! The last of my 3 cats has died and I am waiting to visit the CPL and choose another one (or two).
PS All of my cats loved cardboard boxes, much better beds than expernsive ‘cat igloos’

  2. Cant be without our Magnificent Moggies calendar and last year we struggled to find one, eventually did thank goodness
Please email when they are published this year
Many thanks from Rodney (Mr August 2019), his Uncle Albert and the humans!

  3. Amazing as always. I love everything you do! One day i will see my lot immortalised by you! They are also the best diaries to use – EVER

  4. Basil – August – has to be your absolute best painting of the most wonderful dog – he was a real star. I’m sue his owner Nicky Turner would agree. I have most of your products with his picture and look forward to more in the future. Thank you
