Meet Harry ,a mighty fine specimen of Bassett Hound belonging to Julia Martin Thompson. Unfortunately I’ve failed to locateJulia before going to print so I’m hoping she stumbles across this artwork and gets in touch. I chose to draw Harry because the photo really made me giggle. With his posture and hangdog expression I immediately thought Harry would be an excellent muse for the “grumpy old man” greeting card. The only Bassett I’ve had the pleasure of knowing walks in our local park. When I say walk obviously I mean strolls a few yards, pauses for a ponder and generally takes life at Bassett pace. Bassett pace is 100% decided by each individual and good luck to all those who think they can change it!
