Jen was working on reception at a vets in Orkney when a tiny kitten with a very nasty eye infection was brought in by the Cats Protection. Sadly one of his eyes couldn’t be saved but by the time he had recovered from the operation Jen was smitten & the newly named Mason (inspired by the local Masonic Lodge’s “All Seeing Eye”) had a loving home. From day one Mason was adventurous & always up to mischief. When Murray the Border Terrier moved in, Mason gained a new best friend. He loved to lie on his back with Murray the dog standing over him, then he’d attach himself with all four paws & Murray would walk around the house with Mason swinging from his tummy. Mason was also an incredible mouser & many a time Jen found herself making a mad dash to close the porch door to stop him bringing his live presents into the house, she thinks they were his gifts for Murray. And it wasn’t just mice, it’s not every day you return home from work to find a duckling quacking away behind the telly. Maaaaason!
