George The Hare Greeting Card

This George the Hare greeting card is the beginning of Anna’s new British wildlife greeting card collection. With this range she hopes to highlight animals on the endangered list and pass on useful nuggets of information that will protect the species and their environment. The best time to spot a Hare is early Spring. They love open grassland habitats and woodland edges, favouring arable fields, grasses and hedgerows.

The hare population had been declining in the UK since the 1940’s, primarily thought to be through the loss of habitant caused by intensive farming practices. Fears of disease are also a concern for the species and there a number of wildlife conservation groups who would be very grateful if the public reported any sightings of poorly or deceased hares. A quick search on the Internet of your area should give you more details oh how, where and what to report.

After a pastel sabbatical of some 20 years Anna says of this new style ” It’s a messy business drawing with pastels and it’s very hands on which means you are washing them every hour but the colour blends are SO worth it! I secretly marvel at small one inch sections of colour in each drawing, loving how the pastel medium creates it’s own magic”
